The storm that developed in October 1991 off the coast of Canada and the United States took shape from an exceptionally large disturbance created by the encounter between subtropical air masses and cold air fronts from North America.
It often happens in those parts, but in this case the concomitant presence of residual humid air masses from Hurricane Grace, which had recently hit it, contributed to creating the deadly combination of events that inspired the famous film starring George Clooney.
In short, the conditions for certain storms to occur are of various kinds, but the location and period must certainly be favorable, a bit like what happened here with the history of Forza Italia.
In a country in the midst of an identity crisis driven by investigations and suicides, shaken by the collapse of political ideals and institutional voids, and with an entire population shocked by their elimination from the World Cup at home and entrenched by programs and advertisements on private TV, what could possibly go wrong?
Maybe we’re still paying a little dearly for it (Big Brother is about to turn 25), but ultimately, the current situation in Iran isn’t accidental either; rather, it’s the result of a very long chain of mistakes.
But can a good salesman and an aggressive advertiser be enough to hand over and condemn an entire nation to such decay?
It seems so, at least according to current times and to figures like Trump Zuckenberg or Elon Musk and the story of another storm born in the middle of the last century.
In fact, all it took was a favorable historical period, a post-war social climate, a pseudoscientific hypothesis and a relentless media propaganda and the wind of racism, no Nazism, no wait for ADHD began to blow.
E’ in fact, in the fervor of the recent birth of Neurology in America, all performance and objectives, an unverifiable hypothesis is born (not even with current tools!) which is supported by war economy-style no-budget investments:
Children who show repeated signs of impatience, agitation, and difficulty paying attention are not as rude as epileptics or cerebropathics as all the others we have studied so far. Rather, they suffer from a presumed ‘minimal brain dysfunction’ that, however, leaves their intelligence intact!
And certain researchers must have had a lot of ‘intelligence’ to be able to change the previous wording (‘minimal brain damage’) because it is by changing that word that ADHD can now be distinguished from organic cerebropathies and therefore treated with amphetamine-based psychostimulants without pediatric associations and families rising up against the risk of institutionalized doping.
We are not at all chemically stimulating disabled children to perform better, we are only compensating for a congenital deficiency of their chemical origin.
With all due respect to psychodynamic theories, attachment and development (which thus become Neuro-development..) not to mention the Infant Research strand or René Spitz’s studies on some orphaned newborns:
Even though everyone was fed properly, those deprived of the necessary emotional care ended up letting themselves die, demonstrating how, unlike animals, human relationships are fundamental to the survival of our species.
And if it’s not so incredible that hypotheses and lies can only become true by repeating them millions of times (even Goebbels saw it that way..) what seems incredible to me is how on children’s skin you can tattoo theme songs on theme songs, getting everyone to agree a little’, creating a sort of ‘single party’ capable of covering the entire parliamentary spectrum.
And it’s not a question of choosing which side to be on (it would be like being able to choose who to fall in love with or which side of the chest to make the heart beat) but rather of each finding their own internal child, which is the personal and original humanity with which we are all born.
Seeking an equally human relationship with others, one that will revolutionize the world and culture as we know them today.
Perhaps this is why, from the right, which is more authoritarian and proud in repressing dissent, to the left, more inclusive of personal ‘diversity,’ passing through the great center of Catholic welfare and the cohesive family, all united in turning away in the name of the last great social shock absorber.
ADHD.
