WHO IS ARTIFICIAL?

WHO IS ARTIFICIAL?

They say the IA will replace us in the fairly near future.

Many people worry, raise the alarm, and those who work there… seem the most scared.

He’s getting so smart that he’ll replace everyone in his work, because he’s faster, he doesn’t make mistakes, he does huge calculations in the blink of an eye.

It’s absurd how this reality has been galloping in just a few years. It seems like an unstoppable condition…a meteorite that can be seen, burns the air, points straight at the earth…but it can’t be stopped. Are we passed off as poor brachiosaurus?

E’ it all started with the IA who manages to find the best chess solution, in summarizing a book in a few seconds, in creating a painting while the artist has only taken the pencil. And now in some tests, he has independently created a hidden collaboration to send himself messages and evade human control.

There is strong concern about something inhuman that is beyond human control…

However, it is a bit’ strange to hear about danger, compared to AI.

It’s like a person holding a sharp knife screaming: “beware this knife can kill us!”

But who is it that stabs?

She will replace everyone because she is better than everyone in everything. He can do everything we can do, but better, faster. Although it’s not clear why faster equals better. The (human) fantasy, this unknown.

But the point of playing chess…is to win at chess?

Is summarizing a book the point of reading?

And it’s not the cookie-cutter thought of luck “Humans are better than any machine”

No, Because I’m a loser at chess.

But it’s the moment when all this happens.  This galloping of the IA at a historical/political/cultural and social moment in which there seems to be a paucity, an enormous coldness towards what is human… and it even seems that it is normal for this to be the case.

Does the artificial advance, does the human struggle?

And if today I’m 15 years old.18 years old.25 years old. And I see the world. I think about my future.

Actually, no, I see the present for now.

Collapse. I’ll find out how I can. I open a door.

“The Italian stabbed me and I forgive him. But the black man from the congo who saved me must return to the congo!”

“For 15 years I treated the guy who threw the girl off the overpass. He was quiet the day before. I never would have imagined.”

E’ just the reality I read or is it the truth?

And to avoid falling into black depression, I keep looking. I open more doors.

“The one who killed those people was being treated, but we cannot know if mental illness was the cause of his violence.”

“Children are terrorists too!”

All this hurts. And it risks making sense. A tip of color fades, into a tide of black.

“Talking about emotions in school No, metal detectors yes”

“No to war! So we send weapons to make the war that ends the war”

The AI advances…

But what artificiality are we talking about?

There seems to be a new pandemic, artificial beings that look human…or rather, trying to convince others that what they lost…never existed.

“We are the longest-serving government (only the Duce is better than us, but we are getting organized)!”

“Everything is bad, so the priority is foreign children in the classroom!”

But, to avoid ending up like the horse Artax in the swamp of sadness…

I keep looking.  I open another door.

Because I hold out hope, to paraphrase a great poet, that perhaps… from all this manure, a flower can be born, which is then a necessity.

The need for a space that is one of listening, sharing, and … caring.

A “here and now” that doesn’t align with the flat, false, and sick narratives that make this hellish air unbreathable.

To “seek something in this hell, that is not hell” …that speaks of something different, with a new thought. Nothing magical, nothing artificial… but all human.

“and then make it last and give it space”

To tell the truth, something is work in progress…
