a capitalist model of excellence, certainly, but also a cruel challenge, an unequal struggle, that no army could ever face.

How to deal with such a great problem, the sovereignists will have wondered then, who already understand from the name that they have no political alternative but to make citizens subjects.

Easy, the marketing prophets who dispensed cognitive psychology pills will have answered.
If a problem seems insurmountable to you, break it down into a series of smaller problems so you can tackle it and solve them one at a time, much like modern sports psychology.

How to think about running the 42 km of a marathon or playing the 5 interminable sets of a Slam without giving up even before tying your shoes?

By viewing the route as divided into several stages, dissecting them into a hatching of points, they recommend the Coaching experts: by dividing the image of effort the mind deludes itself and the effort is deceived.

Why not do the same with people too?

Politics like sport then: let only a few participate but let the strongest win.
Let peoples be divided, let humanity be reduced to increasingly smaller factions, let only billions of people remain in the world, separated from each other, so convinced that they are alone and insignificant that they no longer arouse any fear.

A few simple rules: divide and conquer – panem et circenses.

And after dividing and exhausting them with a myriad of images handled by a few lying illusionists, let’s fill them with catchy slogans like “Assault on Europe.. mass invasion.. threat to integrity.. ethnic substitution.. close Schengen..” and voilà ladies and gentlemen: Our eyes please..

You’ll see, those kids who land on the beaches with their bare hands will be more afraid than our armies who invade entire countries, the horror of seeing the search for a better future floundering for a few hours in the sea, of the thousands of missiles and drones that we launch into the skies every day, will be stronger, because they will be more indignant, they will be more angry, because we have perhaps long since defeated that strength of continuing to dream and fight.

Think about it, they don’t even vote anymore, they spend their time trying to screw each other!

And it doesn’t matter if it turns out that we ran everything with fake news, perhaps to weaken Spain’s political model by raising the threat of socialism’s ‘return,’ it doesn’t matter if we rounded up and deluded thousands of people with a mirage of freedom as we told others they were in danger of losing it, or that the Strait of Gibraltar is impossible to cross except by ship or ferry, and that the suspension of Schengen makes no sense given that the treaty already provides for a special regime for Spanish cities in Morocco, since denials of front-page news are always published on the last page.

In short, if you want them to be three or four more nonsense, in the meantime let’s stick images in people’s heads that remain imprinted, even more so if connected to an emotion as strong as fear, you’ll see that from their little beaches they’ll scan the horizon believing they’ll see them coming too.

We’re not stupid, we consulted psychology for that too.

In short, there is no doubt about it, they seem to have really thought a little about everything, yet I am convinced that any political plan that does not include an idea of equality is sooner or later destined to fail, and that this is no exception.

When people’s rights become dividends for shareholders, when a few thugs agree on how to outwit humanity, when the weakest are pushed to wage war on each other, one is perhaps clouding one’s sight and fueling blindness, but in the meantime the other senses are expanding.

And when this delusion of omnipotence collides with the reality of human feeling and knowledge, the fear of what we do not know will no longer be enough, and will be the end of the neo-obscurantism of our times, of this fraternicidal liberalism.

Because there was a time when the Communist Party (to ‘pool!’) It reached more than 33% of the vote in Italy, almost 12,000,000 people united in their desire to participate in history in order to change it.

What was that red tide?
Disappointed, perhaps.

Historical compromises and political turns, promises of austerity and the pursuit of privilege have led some of them to occupy the same positions of power that by riding that tide they had promised to bring down, letting the distance from the people they believed in those ideas do the rest.

The undertow, they called it.

The faces of the young people walking through the streets of Ceuta are not so different from those encountered in our suburbs, faces of generations whose backs have been turned, who have been propagated free freedom and cheap democracy, rights that instead come at a very high price, as all wars of resistance have taught us.

There is perhaps a bigger problem than poverty, and that is inequality.

The girl from Ceuta helping a stranger in Hijab and human equality by birth are the images i will bring with me this summer.

Look at their hands, don’t they look like a heart?

Marco Randisi

Images of the thousands of boys and girls arriving in Ceuta have gone around the world, demonstrating once again how the web is capable of making its borders disappear.
