It is the card that beats the stone!

In short, the strange world of materials, where even if the inhabitants collide hard nobody gets hurt..

It was the eighties, and the world we lived in was quite easy to understand:

On one side was America with Rocky, Rambo, the CIA, and the Cowboys, and on the other side the Soviet Union, with Ivan Drago, the KGB and the Indians (who were actually Americans but had red skin) and war was a distant and cold thing, with Berlin and its wall dividing the world in half between good and bad.

Then there was the Third World sure, but it was a poor world, which I imagined kind of bronze, like those medals that I thought they were worth nothing and that they were a consolation for the losers, before Benedetta Pilato and his smile of fourth place made me understand, Many years later, that I did not understand

Then the wall falls, the Germans embrace each other, Reagan and Gorbachev kiss each other, the policy is of disarmament and the horizons are many, wide and possible

What about today?

I don’t know what to think..

Two weeks ago we were talking about the urgency of saving the environment from climate change, so stop the straws, plastic caps and thermal engines, today to invest in defense to create new jobs (you know, soldiers, armies..) and save industry, perhaps converting it into war as in the Germany of the 30s, as if we had not already passed with Hitler or do not remember how it ended..

But don’t call it war economy, no, it’s just “the era of rearmament”

One might think, well of course, America is leaving us, let’s be far-sighted and wise, show that in only 70 years we have grown so much to do it ourselves, we are for once mature and proud, We join our forces and before that if she leaves, let’s ask her to sell us arms for 800 billion euros, since we have not yet learned where and how to shop!

Just to get an idea, it is as if tomorrow morning all European citizens, including newborns, would line up in front of the armories to spend 1,800 euros each.

Now, if it makes you shiver to think that a few years ago Greece was bankrupt for much less, and people literally starved to death because the austerity policy did not allow to make debt, today is perhaps even worse:

First because the plan of rearmament is in 4 years (to the natural expiration of the presidency Trump), second because if Putin has invaded Ukraine it is because he is not in NATO, otherwise he would have been careful of putting a whole continent REALLY against, and third because if the richest (and most dangerous!) man in the world has the obsession with missiles and the most powerful of skyscrapers, at least so far Musk has launched them to Mars and not to Russian!

In short, since we are talking about the prevention of so-called deviance and children walking around with knives inside and outside the school, seeing the destruction of everything that was thought to represent Europe could be even worse than certain violent and viral videos of which we complain so much, of their continuous and repeated pressure on the minds of children, their dangerous way of making them hard and insensitive, and their false narrative, a little toxic, a little paranoid just to stay in the real world, that instead shines from anywhere you look at it, just like a wonderful diamond.

Why is there no hope as long as there is war?

(N.B.
